Rattan weaving generally goes through a dozen processes such as rattan beating (cutting off the knots on the rattan), rattan picking, rattan washing, rattan drying, rattan bending, rattan pulling (rattan shaving), rattan chipping, bleaching, dyeing, weaving and painting. The rattan is mainly made of rattan branches, cores or bamboo as the skeleton, and then woven with rattan skin or young rattan cores, giving full play to the characteristics of soft rattan and not easy to break.
In terms of colour, most of the rattan is light yellow, or processed and bleached to white or ivory, which gives it a soft and elegant look, while some of the colours are coffee or brown. The rattan furniture is made of thick rattan for the skeleton, nailed to the frame, then woven with rattan skin and core, and finally painted or coloured.
